Autism Speaks
"A new child is diagnosed with autism every 20 minutes, making it the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the United States today. I also know from personal experience how costly, time-consuming, and emotionally challenging it can be to care for loved ones with autism. As a company with a significant life sciences practice, we are aware of many medical causes that merit support, but few have as wide-ranging an impact as autism. That's why TransPerfect and Crimson Life Sciences are proud to support Autism Speaks in their ongoing efforts to find a cure."
– Marc H. Miller, Crimson Life Sciences President
Autism Speaks was founded by Suzanne and Bob Wright—grandparents of Christian, a young boy diagnosed with autism. Since inception, Autism Speaks has committed $128 million in new research funding (through 2014) to discover causes, prevention, treatments, and a cure for autism. Through their legislative work, Autism Speaks has successfully passed autism insurance legislation in five states and is working with 23 others to pass coverage bills for families affected by autism.
TransPerfect and its Crimson Life Sciences division have shown their support for Autism Speaks through a direct contribution of $22,000 as part of April's Autism Awareness Month.
