Phil Shawe
President and CEO
Phil Shawe co-founded TransPerfect in 1992. Today, TransPerfect is a global family of companies and the world’s largest privately held provider of language and business services. Shawe oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, headquartered in New York City.
Under Shawe’s leadership, TransPerfect has received numerous awards and distinctions. The company is a three-time honoree of the Inc. 5000 Award, a six-time honoree of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, and has earned multiple Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service. Crain's New York Business has ranked TransPerfect as one of the largest privately held companies, as well as one of the largest women-owned companies, six years in a row. TransPerfect was also three times named one of the fastest-growing women-owned/led businesses in North America by Entrepreneur and the Women Presidents' Organization.
In 2008, Shawe was named to the prestigious “40 Under 40 list” by Crain’s New York Business. He sits on the Board of Directors for Girls Who Code, an organization with a single mission: to close the gender gap in technology. Shawe has spoken at New York University and Columbia University, and is a member of the Association for a Better New York (ABNY).
Prior to his career in the language services industry, Shawe was a Financial Analyst at Chemical Bank and a Global Custody Consultant at Merrill Lynch. Shawe holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business, and he received his BS from the University of Florida where he triple majored in Finance, Marketing, and Risk Management.
Roy B. Trujillo
Chief Operating Officer
Chief Operating Officer Roy B. Trujillo has been with Translations.com since 1999, bringing with him significant experience in areas related to the needs of the rapidly growing family of companies. Prior to his employment with Translations.com, Trujillo served as President and CEO of Leona's Foods, Inc. During his time there, his efforts were largely responsible for transforming a small regional company into a national supplier of high-quality natural food products. The products developed and manufactured by LFI were sold under company owned brands as well as most of the nation's largest retailer's private label programs. Prior to his time at Leona's Foods, he held various technical and management positions at IBM, SBC Communications, and Chase Investment Services. Trujillo earned an MBA in Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies at New York University's Stern School of Business, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from New Mexico State University.
Mark Hagerty
Chief Technology Officer
Prior to joining Translations.com in 2003, Mark Hagerty was the Director of Software Development at eTranslate, directing the development of the industry leading GMS technology that was eventually acquired by Translations.com. Prior to that Hagerty worked for 8 years as a senior software engineer and manager at Adobe Systems, Inc. Mr. Hagerty was in charge of merging the internal customer databases and customer support systems when Adobe acquired Aldus in 1994. He was also one of the developers of the Adobe Type-On-Call product and was a key member of the teams that implemented Peoplesoft and SAP internally. Mr. Hagerty has 20 years of software development experience and is responsible for the technology vision and solutions that make Translations.com an industry leader. Mr. Hagerty holds a BS in Mathematics and Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
Steve Tondera
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Tondera has extensive experience running the financial operations of several companies across different industries. His achievements include design and implementation of TransPerfect’s international tax structure, overhauling cash management systems, installing efficient monthly closing procedures, realigning professional firm configuration for improved service, and improvements to various processes and organizational matters. Prior to TransPerfect, Tondera held CFO and VP of Finance roles at companies such as HEI, Diversified Drilling Corporation, and Fant Broadcasting Company. Tondera previously held a Certified Public Accountant license for nearly 30 years and has a BS in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration from Birmingham-Southern College.
Yu-Kai Ng
Chief Information Officer
Yu-Kai Ng joined TransPerfect in 2005. Under his direction, TransPerfect has successfully increased operational efficiency in pace with its rapid global expansion, and has effectively aligned IT investments with strategic business objectives across the TransPerfect Family of Companies. Prior to joining TransPerfect, Yu-Kai started a technical consulting practice whose clients included IBM and Siebel Systems. He has also held technical leadership positions at Respond.com, Full Circle Software, Puma Technology, and Adobe Systems. Yu-Kai has a BA in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Kevin Obarski
Chief Revenue Officer
Kevin Obarski is TransPerfect’s Chief Revenue Officer and has primary responsibility for company sales, client relations, and innovations that drive growth. He is a devout enabler of entrepreneurship within TransPerfect, helping employees from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels to grow into directors, senior managers, and executive-level positions. Kevin is committed to mentoring individuals to show them how to achieve significant and lasting success in a short amount of time.
Originally joining the company’s Atlanta office in 2001, Kevin has been a critical driving force behind TransPerfect’s 100+ consecutive quarters of profitable growth. He has personally overseen multiple new division launches and assembled and led teams to solve complex business problems, both within TransPerfect and for the company’s clients around the world.
Kevin is the proud father of three girls and is actively involved in charitable efforts that include Virgin’s Galactic Unite and Girls Who Code, both of which focus on promoting STEM education and careers, as well as the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Tim Coughlin
Vice President, Sales
Tim Coughlin holds responsibility for business development, marketing, and strategic partnerships for Translations.com. Mr. Coughlin joined Translations.com in 2000 as the director of corporate communications, bringing six years of marketing and communications experience to the company. Prior to joining Translations.com, Coughlin held senior account positions with leading marketing and public relations firms, including Edelman Public Relations Worldwide and Burson-Marsteller, where he managed programs for clients including LEXIS-NEXIS, Warner-Lambert, Pfizer, and DiscoveryHealth.com. Coughlin graduated from Davidson College in 1993 with a BA in History.
Martha Ferro Geller
Senior Vice President, Strategic Accounts
Martha Geller was born in Bogota, Colombia. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French, and has a Masters Degree in Translation and Interpretation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, in Monterey, CA. Martha has extensive experience in the area of global communications, as well as translation and localization. She has worked at companies such as Ogilvy & Mather and Berlitz to support some of the most iconic brands in international markets. Currently, Martha is Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts and responsible for the Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG), at Translations.com. Her charter includes new business development as well as the engagement and on-boarding of enterprise clients. These clients include leading brands in travel & hospitality (Hilton, Avis, Lufthansa, Starwood), High-Tech (DELL EMC, HPE, Citrix), Automotive (Nissan, Ford) and Retail (Sephora, Ralph Lauren). Martha lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and 2 children. She is an avid gardener and enjoys reading and walking to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Keith Brazil
Senior Vice President, Technology
Keith Brazil is Vice President of Technology for Translations.com with responsibility for the design, development, QA, and deployment of the GlobalLink suite of products. As well as managing a worldwide team of engineers, designers and support staff, Keith also manages a team of solution engineers and architects whose role is to ensure successful deployments on the client side, as well as acting as a feedback loop for client feature requests. Prior to his current role, Keith was Director of Localization at Translations.com, working closely with the production teams. Before joining Translations.com in 2000, Keith was Computer Aided Translation manager for Berlitz GlobalNET in Dublin, Ireland. A native of Dublin, Keith holds a BSc in Applied Computational Linguistics from Dublin City University.
Matt Hauser
Senior Vice President
Matt has been with TransPerfect & Translations.com since 1996 and during that time has worked in virtually every facet of the business. In his current role as Senior Vice President, he oversees the sales and marketing activities for TransPerfect’s GlobalLink technology platform, the world’s most widely deployed globalization management system. Matt is focused on helping organizations launch into new markets quickly and cost-effectively, and has extensive experience in working with a wide range of industry verticals to deploy multi-channel solutions. Matt is also closely involved with TransPerfect’s Enterprise Sales and PartnerLink teams to drive global technology sales. Currently based in Atlanta, GA, Matt is a graduate of the University of Florida and holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in English.
Dan O'Sullivan
Senior Vice President
Dan O'Sullivan has been a senior member of the Translations.com executive team since the company's incorporation in 1999. O'Sullivan came to Translations.com from TransPerfect Translations, where he opened and successfully launched the company's Miami office. His career has been focused on the travel & tourism sector where he has sold and managed some of the largest and most complex projects in the industry for companies such as Royal Caribbean and Hilton International. Currently, O'Sullivan oversees the sales and business development activities for Translations.com in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. O'Sullivan holds a BA in History from Skidmore College and an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Florida.
Michael Sank
Vice President, Corporate Development
Michael Sank joined TransPerfect as a salesperson in 1997 when he opened the Los Angeles office. He subsequently led the company's global expansion as Vice President of International Operations, during which time he lived in London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong, managing all sales and production in Europe and Asia. He now manages TransPerfect’s M&A activity, having completed over twenty transactions including the acquisition of core technology as well as expansions into the Gaming, and Media & Entertainment sectors. Working with incoming management, he has contributed to the integration, employee retention, growth, and overall success of these business units within the TransPerfect framework. He has served on the LocWorld Program Advisory Board and as Chairman of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA). He holds a BA, with Distinction in English, from San Diego State University.
