Hewlett-Packard
Background
Since qualifying as a preferred vendor for Hewlett-Packard in 2001, Translations.com has completed more than a dozen projects offering services including technical writing, Web design, document translation, software localization, and multilingual testing for various divisions of HP.
HP Software Services and Support
In conjunction with HP's Software Service and Support Division out of Mountain View, CA, Translations.com developed content and completed a comprehensive site redesign of HP's Technical Services Packages (TSP) between 2000 and 2002. TSPs support field engineers in the sale of HP hardware and services.
HP Business Printing Division
Translations.com provides technical writing, localization, and multilingual testing for HP's Business Printing Division (BPD), based in Singapore. Localization of product documentation and online help for the company's inkjet printers and other projects occurs in as many as 25 languages concurrently. Translations.com involvement in cutting-edge XML content development projects for BPD's Service and Support group covers four different printers and requires close interaction with HP's third-party developers and subject-matter experts.
HP Digital Projection & Imaging
Translations.com's contracts for the Digital Projection & Imaging group are based out of HP's Corvallis, OR office. Translations.com maintains a full production facility in Corvallis that handles all aspects of this work (content development and localization) for DPI.
HP Information Engineering (IE)
Translations.com has developed content for multi-function laser printers for HP Boise's information Engineering (IE) division, as well as numerous “repurposing” projects for a variety of HP laser and inkjet printers for HP Boise's Knowledge Management Solutions (KMS) group.
Additional Engagements
HP Labs in Palo Alto, CA, called on Translations.com in 2002 for the localization of field support materials into Japanese. Currently Translations.com provides estimates for the same services in a variety of languages.
In all, Translations.com provides technical writing and localization services for nine distinct divisions of Hewlett-Packard and has completed more than 400 content development and 100 localization projects for these various divisions.
