Hyatt

Background

Hyatt is one of the most recognized names in the hospitality and leisure industry, claiming 215 Hyatt-branded hotels and resorts in 43 countries. Operating under the Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, and Park Hyatt brands, these hotels cater to a variety of interests, from luxurious lodgings to deluxe meeting facilities. Hyatt's Gold Passport loyalty program honors its repeat customers, boasting a number of benefits that include frequent flyer miles and Gold Passport points.

Challenge

With its focus on the Gold Passport loyalty program, Hyatt knew it needed to speak the respective languages of its international customers to achieve across-the-board satisfaction. Facing the last-minute release of promotional materials that incorporated targeted marketing based on its guests' geographic locations, Hyatt needed a translation partner who could provide top quality translations in the shortest amount of time.

  • Translations.com was commissioned to provide accurate, fully localized translations under very tight turnaround times to ensure that Hyatt's delivery schedule was maintained.
  • A unique branding voice was needed to directly address Gold Passport members in a familiar, established tone.
  • The situation involved a heavy and consistent workload, emphasizing the management of several projects simultaneously, each with its own unique deadline and specific target audience.
  • An array of technical services was called for, including desktop publishing, graphic editing, and thorough functional and linguistic testing and QA.

Solution

Drawing from its industry leading experience in the travel and tourism market, Translations.com assembled a team of highly skilled linguistic and field area experts to completely adapt the English Gold Passport source files into perfectly mirrored deliverables in the target languages.

  • Translations.com appointed a dedicated project manager to serve as primary point of reference for each Hyatt Gold Passport task.
  • Assembled a group of Hyatt-approved linguists to form a glossary of terms and style guides to guarantee consistency from one project to the next, while also establishing a branding voice in each of the required languages.
  • Utilized the four Translations.com production centers to track and monitor jobs with extremely tight deadlines, thus ensuring prompt completion.
  • Took on an all-inclusive role for Hyatt by tackling its multilingual desktop publishing and graphic editing needs, as well as addressing any other technical or linguistic issues that arose.

Thanks to a great effort on the part of both Hyatt and Translations.com, GoldPassport.com launched its German and Japanese sites, with additional sites in Chinese, French, Korean, and Spanish to be offered by the end of 2006. Translations.com continues to work with Hyatt on frequent updates and new promotional collateral, including several new jobs per week. No matter where you're from or what you desire, Hyatt speaks your language-now that's living in the lap of luxury.
